The mHealth Zone Podcast

The weekly radio show that started it all, reborn for the streaming era. Candid conversations with the people actually building digital health.

From weekly radio show to flagship podcast

Before podcasting was an industry, mHealth Zone was a weekly online radio program about mobile health. Every week we went live with the entrepreneurs shipping the first health apps, the physicians experimenting with remote monitoring and the policy people trying to keep up with both. The format was simple and it never needed fixing: one host, one guest, one honest hour about what it really takes to change how care is delivered.

The mHealth Zone Podcast is the direct heir of that show. The distribution has changed — you will find us on every major podcast platform rather than a live audio stream — but the editorial DNA is intact. We still favor practitioners over pundits, specifics over slogans, and the unglamorous operational detail that other shows edit out. If a guest cannot explain how their product gets paid for, we ask again until they can.

What you will hear

Episodes run thirty-five to fifty minutes and fall into three recurring formats:

  • Founder deep-dives. The origin story is the least interesting part. We dig into unit economics, clinical evidence strategy, regulatory pathway decisions and the pivots nobody puts in the pitch deck.
  • Clinician perspectives. Physicians, nurses and care team leaders on what digital tools actually change at the bedside — and which ones create more work than they save.
  • Regulation decoded. Plain-language walkthroughs of FDA guidance, reimbursement changes and privacy rulings, recorded with the lawyers and former regulators who shaped them.

Recent seasons have covered the economics of virtual-first primary care, the quiet consolidation of the remote patient monitoring market, continuous glucose monitoring going mainstream, and what the first wave of AI-clearance decisions tells us about the next one.

For listeners

The podcast is free and always will be. New episodes land every Tuesday, and subscribers to our newsletter get the companion briefing — key quotes, links and our editorial take — the same morning. If you work anywhere near digital health, it is the easiest hour of professional development you will do all week.

For guests and sponsors

We book guests on editorial merit, full stop. If you are building something genuinely interesting in mobile health and can speak concretely about evidence, economics and adoption, we want to hear from you — regardless of company size or funding stage. Pitch us through the contact page with two or three specific things you could teach our audience.

For brands, we offer a limited number of sponsorship slots each quarter: host-read placements, episode series sponsorship and co-produced special episodes. Our audience is unusually concentrated — product leaders, clinical innovators and investors in digital health — which means sponsors reach exactly the people who evaluate and buy health technology. We keep sponsored content clearly labeled and editorially separate; that discipline is precisely why the audience trusts the show enough to make sponsorship worth buying.

  • Weekly episodes, distributed on all major podcast platforms
  • Companion written briefing for newsletter subscribers
  • Host-read sponsorships and series partnerships, clearly labeled
  • Guest pitches reviewed on editorial merit within one week
